Born to a lesser noble house in Ishgard, Evelynn de Biroux was the bastard child of Lady Leontine and an unknown Hyuran male in a secret affair whilst her husband, Lord Alain was away. Upon her birth, Evelynn was given to a scullery maid to be passed off as the woman's child, though growing up she was taught etiquette and was given some schooling. At the age of twelve, she was sent off to live with a family in Gridania, where she developed a love for the mysterious and the occult, inventing fantastical ideas of what curiosities might live in the Shroud and surrounding areas. She was self-taught in the subject, reading every book she could get her hands on all over Eorzea.When her adoptive parents died of a mysterious illness, Evelynn took up a stint in conjury, but found herself hard-pressed to take the role seriously. She began her supernatural studies again in earnest, using what money she had to acquire instruments and a small apartment out of which to work. When her studies took her back to Ishgard, she was enlisted into the employ of a lesser noble house, and she is there to this day.
